A fully renovated, authentic Kyoto machiya townhouse, believed to be around 100 years old. Refined luxury meets full modern functionality in this fifth property of Hana's premium "Luxury" series.
Located in Miyagawacho, one of Kyoto's five historic geisha districts. Standing directly on the neighborhood's most atmospheric stone-paved lane, the building was once a working teahouse (ochaya). Next door, one of Miyagawacho's most celebrated teahouses still operates today, and geiko and maiko pass through the lane as part of their daily lives. At dusk, lanterns glow upon the stone pavement; the soft sound of white-tabi footsteps and the faint melody of practice drifting on the evening air — this is not the Kyoto of sightseeing, but a stay within the everyday life of a living geisha district.
The Kamogawa River unfolds from the second-floor windows. Cherry blossoms along the riverbank in spring, evening strollers in summer — the gentle murmur of the river is yours to enjoy, in every season.
Hanamikoji Street, Yasaka Shrine, Kenninji Temple, the Kamogawa River, and the Shijo-Kawaramachi shopping district are all within walking distance. Keihan Line "Gion-Shijo" Station is just a 5-minute walk away, and Kyoto Station is approximately 10 minutes by car — an exceptionally convenient location.

While preserving the traditional façade of a Kyoto machiya, the interior blends contemporary Japanese design, welcoming guests with an entirely renewed spirit.
At the heart of the spacious ground-floor living room sits a marble island counter that seats up to eight. It serves as a dining table for shared meals, a bar counter for evening drinks, and a workspace for reading or working by day — a second face of the villa, adapting freely to every moment of your stay. All furniture and bedding have been carefully selected to meet the standards of five-star luxury hotels. The villa offers three bathrooms, so families and groups can prepare for the day or unwind at night without ever waiting.
Ground floor: Semi-open-air bath — A large bathtub where you can soak while feeling the open air. Perfect for a family to share, or for children to splash and play. A liberating bathing experience to wash away the fatigue of travel.
Second floor: Two hinoki cypress baths — Each of the two upstairs bathrooms features a hinoki cypress tub. Surrounded by the wood's distinctive fresh fragrance and gentle warmth, enjoy a truly refined bathing experience.
Three marble vanities — Each bathroom is equipped with a generously sized marble vanity. Spacious, highly functional wash areas make morning routines a pleasure.
