Reisen Villa is an authentic Kyomachiya with over 100 years of history. Fully renovated into a luxurious and functional guesthouse, Reisen Villa is the third guesthouse in our Hana Premium series of high-grade properties.
Reisen Villa is conveniently located close to Kawabata and Shichijo (near the Kamogawa River), making it a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. Reisen Villa is just a 5-minute walk from the nearest station, Shichijo Station on the Keihan Railway. By taxi, it is just a 10-minute ride to Shijo-dori, Kyoto’s bustling downtown area.
We fully renovated an authentic Kyomachiya with over a century of history to welcome guests with a traditional exterior unique to Kyomachiya and a refined interior designed in the modern Japanese aesthetic.
Reisen Villa is part of the Hana Premium series, the highest grade of Hana guesthouses which offers superb quality and variety of fixtures, amenities, and guest activities.
A luxurious living space with views of the inner garden
The living space features an area with Okinawa-style Ryukyu tatami mats and an open design with modern Japanese furnishings. Complete with a large dining table that comfortably seats six, a spacious sofa for entertaining several people, and a large LCD television, this living space is perfect for casually enjoying meals and conversation.
We also offer guests of Reisen Villa various optional activities and services, including opportunities to partake in a tea ceremony and a calligraphy lesson. We also offer catered food service.
A tokonoma alcove, a kakejiku hanging scroll, and Kiyomizu lacquerware (traditional Kyoto pottery) enhance the unique, Kyoto-style atmosphere. Local visitors from Japan and guests from around the world will appreciate this unique Kyoto experience. This traditional space can be enjoyed as part of the living space, or you may close the sliding doors to completely envelop yourself in Wa (Japanese aesthetic).
A complete facility with fixtures to support a pleasant stay
On the second floor, you will find two bedrooms. Both are twin rooms furnished with two single beds. To ensure our guests have a pleasant stay, each bedroom is fully equipped with a wash basin, shower, and toilet. The first-floor Japanese room is also equipped with futon (Japanese sleeping mats and linen) to enable use as a bedroom (sleeps up to two people).
The bath on the first floor features a stylish interior and is equipped with high-grade fixtures. The bath windows offer a view of the garden and the changing room features a wash basin and a spacious mirror that extends nearly two meters across. In the back is a visually impactful stone lantern decorating a semi-open-air bath that resembles an infinity pool. This private bath is spacious enough for several adults to offer our guests an extraordinary lodging experience.
